Many clock companies used 3rd party movement manufacturer's for the source of their movements (works).  Companies such as Ridgeway, Howard Miller, Trend, Emperor, and Baldwin used movements from the main German clock movement manufacturers, Jauch, Hermle, Kieninger, and Urgos.

 

In many cases, these movements are "private-labeled" and not directly identified by the 3rd party manufacturer.  However, in most in most incidences, these movements were higher quality than mass-produced new movements in the market today.

 

These movements should be rebuilt rather than replaced.  Properly rebuilt Urgos movements can have a running life of 40 or more years if properly maintained.​
